A Siddha Guru is a meditation master who is fully established in his or her own divine nature and who can also awaken others to the experience of their inner divinity. The ability to transmit awakening is called shaktipat diksha, the bestowal of grace.
Gurumayi Chidvilasananda is a Siddha Guru. From an early age, under the guidance of her Guru, Swami Muktananda, Gurumayi devoted herself to the teachings and practices of the Siddha Yoga path. In 1982, as he neared the end of his life, Swami Muktananda entrusted to her the full power and authority of the Siddha lineage which he had received from his Guru, Bhagavan Nityananda.
Since that time, Gurumayi has bestowed spiritual awakening on countless seekers all over the world. She guides the progress of students on the Siddha Yoga path through her writings, artwork, and music, through Siddha Yoga teaching and learning events, and study tools. The Siddha Yoga Path website is the platform on which these are made available today.
